Saint Michael Indian School is the only Catholic school founded by Saint Katharine Drexel still under the direction of St. Katharine’s Order, the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. Our PK -12th school currently has 350+ students and 44+ faculty and staff. Located in the heart of the Navajo Nation our mission school has served the Navajo Children for 117 years.
For the past year we have been working with the School of Architecture at the University of Notre Dame on a campus wide capital improvement plan for our school. Today we are gearing up for a Capital Campaign set to kick off in 2021. We are looking for a mission minded, team oriented, self-motivated, creative, and extremely personable addition to our advancement team.
The Director of Annual Giving reports directly to the President, with a primary emphasis on increasing philanthropic support to Saint Michael Indian School by maximizing the interest, involvement and commitment of donors including staff, board, and leadership giving. The 2019 -2020 unrestricted goal is $400,000. –approximately 1/6th of the overall annual budget for the school.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
Catholic / Navajo preference – however will strongly consider all applicants
Minimum 5 years in the fundraising field
Experience running successful Annual Fund campaigns which incorporate: social media outreach, direct mail, phone programs, online solicitations, digital marketing, giving appeals, working with volunteers, and cultivating and soliciting leadership level Annual Fund gifts;
Experience with donor management software
Must possess a keen understanding of annual giving strategies; have knowledge of emerging trends in annual giving, proven leadership skills, including a track record of effectively training and managing a successful Annual Fund operation.
