Austin Catholic High School, located in Chesterfield, Michigan is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader prepared to be the driving force behind the development and advancement of our growing eight year old school. The Executive Director of Institutional Advancement is responsible for the design, development, and execution of programs and activities to enhance the growth and sustainability of Austin Catholic High School. Reporting to the Head of School, this senior level position also works closely with the Board of Directors Development Committee and school staff to elevate significantly the philosophy of philanthropic giving at Austin Catholic. Strategic responsibilities start with the design and development of a comprehensive development plan that includes marketing-communications, admissions and donor development ensuring that the school has a clear and consistent voice that is consistent with the school’s mission and long-term strategic goals.
Primary responsibility is the financial stewardship and growth of the school through the revision and management of the annual, planned, major, and capital campaigns; leading foundation outreach and grant writing; and the management of alumni relationships, stewardship, and student enrollment activities. The Executive Director must be an excellent manager/mentor and builder of teams while recognizing the immediacy and urgency of the capital campaign.
Lead a team to reach our $12 million capital campaign goal. Working closely with Head of School, Board Members, volunteers and staff. The centerpiece of the campaign is the Dave DeBusschere Center for Athletics. Other key components include financial aid, STEAM curricular and facility upgrades, and a chapel.
Develop and lead a professional and volunteer staff to elevate the current development programs and plans so they maximize donor potential and cultivate a diverse portfolio of major gift donors and capital prospects.
Further develop and implement a planned giving program.
Oversee annual giving program; work with the Annual Fund and Alumni Relations teams to evaluate and improve annual fund drive events and activities to meet strategic goals for engagement and donations.
Identify, cultivate and enhance funding relationships with foundation and corporate partners
Establish/Install a major gift program that features one-on-one cultivation and a strategic engagement strategy that will ensure these goals are attained.
Ensure that coordinated integrated-marketing communications plan and marketing materials effectively communicate with our various constituencies and maximize donor recognition.
Oversee the admissions and recruitment team efforts to promote and elevate future admissions to Austin Catholic. Prepare comprehensive plans, projections, and programs with the team to ensure the goals are met.
Prepare detailed reports and serve as staff support for the Development Committee of the Board of Directors and the Alumni Association for fundraising, promotions, program development, etc.
Provide financial oversight for school operations serving as a liaison to Board Finance Committee.

Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or other applicable field required; master’s degree preferred
5-10 years of demonstrated fundraising experience in a leadership role, preferably at a university or Catholic/Independent school
Experience with a large-scale comprehensive fundraising campaign
Possess a deep understanding of foundation and corporate philanthropic giving and familiarity with all facets of an Advancement/Development program, from research to stewardship
Demonstrated track record of success in executive leadership including evaluating, managing and motivating a team
Excellent writing and presentation skills; grant-writing experience a plus
