Justin-Siena is seeking a full-time high school science teacher for the 2019-2020 school year.
The essential responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Teaching five sections of science, primarily in biology and chemistry;
Collaborating with colleagues to investigate, develop and deliver our curriculum;
Serving on teams to develop whole-school initiatives;
Advising a small group of students;
Engaging meaningfully in student life or athletic programming;
Performing weekend, evening, or overnight duties as assigned.

Candidates must possess demonstrated competence in the content area and in using research-based pedagogical practices. An advanced degree in the content area is preferred. Preference will be given to those with the ability to teach all science courses at the college prep, honors, and AP® levels and who have a keen interest in incorporating appropriate innovative technologies. We seek candidates with an active interest in developing courses with substantive cross-curricular, experiential, and service components. We seek candidates with track records of positive, professional collaboration in team settings and with the desire and capacity to grow as instructional leaders. An understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents is necessary; therefore, we seek a healthy combination of positivity, flexibility, energy, creativity, and sense of humor. We seek demonstrated experience working in a diverse, inclusive community and strong cross-cultural competency skills. Preference will be given to those with previous experience in Catholic high schools.
About Justin-Siena High School
Justin-Siena is a co-educational independent Catholic High School sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers. We serve more than 550 students from the Napa Valley as well as the neighboring Solano County and Sonoma Valley. We have a strong commitment to serve those who could not otherwise afford a quality Catholic secondary school experience with one third of our student body receiving tuition assistance. The school operates a small on-campus boarding program for both domestic and international students as well as an international host family program. We offer a college preparatory curriculum, a competitive interscholastic athletic program, a highly regarded performing arts department, and an array of co-curricular opportunities.
