Justin-Siena is seeking a full-time high school math teacher for the 2019-2020 school year.
The essential responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Teaching five sections of math;
Collaborating with colleagues to investigate, develop and deliver our curriculum;
Serving on teams to develop whole-school initiatives;
Advising a small group of students;
Engaging meaningfully in student life or athletic programming;
Performing weekend, evening, or overnight duties as assigned.

Candidates must possess demonstrated competence in the content area and in using research-based pedagogical practices. An advanced degree in the content area is preferred. Preference will be given to those with the ability to teach all math courses at the AP® , honors, and college prep levels from Algebra I through AP® Calculus BC and Statistics, and who have a demonstrated ability to engage students actively in their learning. We also encourage candidates who can teach physics or chemistry to apply. We seek candidates with an active interest in developing courses with substantive cross-curricular, experiential, and service components. We seek candidates with track records of positive, professional collaboration in team settings and with the desire and capacity to grow as an instructional leader. An understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents is necessary; therefore, we seek a healthy combination of positivity, flexibility, energy, creativity, and sense of humor. We seek demonstrated experience working in a diverse, inclusive community and strong cross-cultural competency skills. Preference will be given to those with experience in Catholic high schools.
About Justin-Siena High School
Justin-Siena is a co-educational independent Catholic High School sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers. We serve more than 550 students from the Napa Valley as well as the neighboring Solano County and Sonoma Valley. We have a strong commitment to serve those who could not otherwise afford a quality Catholic secondary school experience with one third of our student body receiving tuition assistance. The school operates a small on-campus boarding program for both domestic and international students as well as an international host family program.
