The Dean of Students is directly responsible to the Principal and assists in the day to day operation of the school. It is the responsibility of the Dean of Students to see that student policies are reflective of the school's mission and work to enhance individual character development. The Dean of Students will work closely with the Assistant Principal, School Counselor, School Nurse, Main Office staff and Parent Association. The Dean of Students will be a practicing Catholic who is familiar with and adherent to the gospel values.
Oversees the development and supervision of the Art, Music and Physical Ed
Ensures enforcement and monitoring of behavioral and disciplinary policies outlined in the Student Parent
Supervises daily disciplinary matters
Bears responsibility with the Principal for serious disciplinary matters
Coordinates a yearly review of the Parent/Student Handbook and recommends revisions to the Principal
Periodically assesses school culture and climate through conversations and
Informs Principal and Head of Buildings and Grounds of any maintenance concerns that affect the daily life of the school
Oversees the order and cleanliness of the cafeteria
Oversees assemblies and appropriate staging with custodial staff
Prepares budget requests to be submitted to the Principal
Supervises and maintains emergency protocols and procedures
Supervises faculty in compliance with directives in the Faculty Handbook
Oversees Afters, After Care and Early Drop-off Programs
Designs and implements programs to engage students in co-curricular life of the Middle School, including intramurals, clubs and social
Works with coaches, parent volunteers and staff involved with extra-curricular activities
Assists Principal with Master Schedule and scheduling with students
Assists teachers with Mass preparation
Serves on the Retention Committee and the Admissions Committee
