The Associate Principal is part of the administrative team, working collaboratively with the Principal to develop and provide leadership for a quality Catholic educational program. The Associate Principal reports directly to the Principal and serves as the school’s lead administrator for day to day operations, supervises and mentors assistant principals and other campus leaders, has a complete understanding of the school philosophy and is committed to supporting and implementing the vision of the school.
Functions as one of the school's religious leaders in accordance with the school's mission, philosophy and goals of Catholic education.
Witnesses Gospel values and promotes Catholic moral teaching in the policies and life of the school.
Ensures quality Catholic religious instruction of students.
Works towards enhancing the school’s Catholic identity within the school and greater community in cooperation with the school’s Principal and Chaplain.
Ensures that all faculty and staff are committed to the goals of Catholic education.
Exemplifies Catholic living both in and out of the school.
Is responsible for academics and assumes the responsibilities of the Principal in his/her absence.
Is a member of the Administrative Executive Team.
Participates in student disciplinary decisions when the consequence is likely to include Suspension/Required Withdraw (expulsion).
Coordinates the accreditation process.
Oversees the school improvement plan
Assists in the recruitment efforts of the school which includes serving on Admission Team.
Maintains teacher academic and professional files.
Coordinates high school curriculum in collaboration with the Assistant Principal for academics, high school department chairs and Principal.
Coordinates the designs of the master schedules, in conjunction with the counseling center and Assistant Principal.
Supervises and evaluates teachers.
Ensures supervision of all assigned areas.
Monitors student progress and coordinates academic records.
Oversees grades and progress reports.
Oversees the coordination of Parent –Teacher Conferences.
Maintains file of current course syllabi and course descriptions.
Assists with the preparation of the academic calendar and ensures proper instructional time and In-service days.
Helps promote a learning climate in the school and communicates the day-to-day happenings to faculty via regular communication.
Coordinates academic awards program.
Promotes and supports all school activities in actions and words.
Performs duties and responsibilities that assist the general ministry of the school and/or assigned by the Principal.
Keeps current with facility security policies and procedures.
Participates with other staff in promoting good teamwork.
Recommends measures to improve methods, performance and quality of product or service, and suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.

In addition, employees must follow the Phoenix Diocesan Code of Personal and Ethical Conduct which includes, but is not limited to, maintaining the highest standards of personal and professional conduct in conformity with the Gospel and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
Is an active, practicing Catholic, faithful to the Church’s magisterium
Master’s degree in educational administration or a related field with specialization in program planning and evaluation
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a middle school or high school assistant principal
A minimum of 5 years of experience in curriculum development and assessment
Supervisory experience in a school setting
Experience in dealing with situations relative to adolescent physical, social and temperamental issues
Good written and verbal communication skills
Technical reading and writing skills
Experience in preparing and presenting training and seminars to other educators
Knowledge of research practices including research designs, statistics and protocols
Ability to communicate with and serve all levels of management
Must have excellent organizational skills, be able to coordinate and manage multiple priorities and responsibilities
Must be efficient, reliable and adaptable to change while maintaining high productivity levels under stressful deadlines
