The Makerspace Lab Director guides the role that creativity, innovation, and technology play in the learning environment of the school. This person manages the CITE Lab – a makerspace named for Creativity, Innovation, & Technology in Education – and provides instructional coaching to faculty and staff, with a focus on technology integration and creative learning. The CITE Lab Director is a member of Academic Board, reports to the Academic Dean, and collaborates closely with the faculty and IT staff. This person will have a pivotal role in shaping our professional culture in anticipation of moving into the newly constructed La Reine Science and Innovation Center (anticipated groundbreaking in November 2019).
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the CITE Lab, a creative learning space designed to advance Creativity, Innovation, and Technology in Education. This requires:
ensuring the Lab’s equipment, supplies, and furniture are properly maintained
training visitors in how to safely and responsibly use and care for the Lab
supervising the space during open work sessions
scheduling reservations for individuals and groups
Provide instructional coaching to 1-3 teachers at a time, to help them redesign curriculum, instruction, and assessments in ways that cultivate student creativity and innovation
Teach 1 or 2 classes for the Technology & Engineering Department, such as Digital Making or Robotics
In collaboration with Advancement, develop strategic partnerships that will enhance academic programming, with a focus on connections to STEM careers
In collaboration with the Academic Dean, train faculty and staff on technology tools and systems (as needed), such as Blackbaud LMS and G Suite for Education
As a member of Academic Board, make recommendations to policies and procedures that impact school curriculum, instruction, and assessment
Represent the school at outreach events coordinated by Admissions and Advancement, to ensure school partners and families understand how education technology functions at BMHS

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in secondary education, instructional technology, creative technologies, computer science, engineering, design, or related fields
Experience teaching in a high school, preferably with demonstrated expertise in differentiated instruction and culturally responsive teaching
Commitment to development of the whole student, including well-being and character, in alignment with the Holy Cross tradition of education
Experience using technology to extend and enhance learning in a 1:1 BYOD environment
