St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute, an all-boys Lasallian Catholic high school in Buffalo, NY, announces an opening for the position of Religion Teacher to begin in September, 2019. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching high school level religion – inspiring students to gain a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith, their individual faith, and what it means to live a life of morality and service within their community.
Teaching certification is not required for this position. Most importantly, the ideal candidate must have a sincere passion for his/her faith and be able to develop meaningful relationships with the young men at St. Joe’s.
The ideal candidate is also engaged in experiences aligned with the mission of St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute, possess content expertise, and have the desire to teach students of diverse backgrounds on an individual level.
Role and Responsibilities:
The candidate will be expected to participate fully in all obligations of a high school teacher – incorporating modern and ever-changing educational technology to suit students’ learning.
In addition to classroom instruction, additional responsibilities may include proctoring assignments, chaperoning events, attending extracurricular programming, and taking a leadership role as a model for the students, and as a member of our professional community.
The Religion Teacher reports to the Principal and will work together with students, faculty, and administrators.
