Bishop Verot is is currently seeking a full-time Physics teacher for the 2019 - 20 school year. Bishop Verot Catholic High School has a rich tradition of academic excellence. Our college preparatory curriculum consists of state-required courses for graduation along with Religious Education and a wide range of electives. Courses are offered at the standard, college prep, honors, and Advanced Placement Level.
Prospective candidates must have Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred) from an accredited college/university, knowledge of current teaching trends, ability to pass a Level II background screening, and certification to teach in the State of Florida (or eligible for such certification). Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Prepares comprehensive lesson plans and instructs students using a variety of teaching strategies that incorporate diocesan curriculum and Catholic teaching.
Creates an environment of learning and adjusts plans and goals to meet the needs of the students.
Evaluates, monitors and tracks students’ performance
Possesses a high degree of knowledge in the field of Physics and is able to convey standard concepts, practices, and procedures clearly and accurately
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Performs a variety of tasks throughout the school day to include classroom management, prayers before each class period and extra instruction as appropriate
Works under the general supervision of the Assistant Principal and Principal but is responsible for maintaining professional standards in accordance with Parish and Diocesan policies and in alignment with Catholic social teaching in the classroom and school
Demonstrates a high degree of creativity and latitude
Interacts with parents and guardians in a professional and positive manner
Maintains a high level of computer and technology skill; strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Performs other duties as assigned by administration
Bachelor’s Degree in Physics or a related field and Florida State teaching certification
5-7 Years of teaching experience, preferably in Physics
