NOTRE DAME SCHOOL, SANTA BARBARA, CA PRINCIPAL OPENING FOR 2019-2020 ACADEMIC YEAR
Notre Dame School is a Catholic School in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, providing Catholic education according to the standards established by the Archdiocese for grades TK-8. The school also offers pre-school and after-care programs.
Notre Dame’s history began in 1906 and was first established under the direction of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. The philosophy of providing a quality Catholic education for all children lives on in the staff that serves the school today.
With a student population of 190 students, plus 14 pre-school students, the School prepares students for their future by developing their Catholic faith, academic, and non-academic skills, through instruction in Religion, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Art, Music and Physical Education. It is a Catholic community of students, teachers, parents and support staff working together to create a safe, loving, compassionate, and an academically challenging environment for all students. Students attend weekly Mass and are instructed in the Catholic values of our Church.
Notre Dame School is fully licensed by the State of California and accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA).
Practicing Catholic who is committed to Catholic education and models Catholic moral values
Preference given to candidates with administrative experience in principal and/or vice-principal role
Minimum 5 years teaching experience, at least 2 of those in a Catholic school
Earned Master’s degree (in Educational field, preferred)
California (or other US State) Credential (teaching and/or administrative)
Preference given to candidates with Catechist Certification
Bilingual Spanish and English (speaking, reading and writing) required
Fundraising experience and collaborating with parent-volunteer committees
Working knowledge of administrative processes, such as tuition collection, payroll and bookkeeping
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience
