St. Cecilia Catholic School, a PK3-8 elementary school located in the heart of the Bishop Arts District of South Dallas, announces its search for an effective and enthusiastic administrator to serve as its next principal. The successful candidate will embrace the School’s mission, be committed to academic excellence in a strong Catholic, Christ-centered environment, possess the educational background and knowledge to provide all students with a challenging curriculum, demonstrate successful leadership in an educational setting, and have excellent communication, collaborative, and interpersonal skills. This position will become effective July 1, 2019.
Established in 1935 as part of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, St. Cecilia Catholic School has served the Oak Cliff community for more than 80 years. At its heart, the School is a community in pursuit of these four goals: academic excellence, spiritual growth, artistic and physical development, and emotional support. Early learning at St. Cecilia’s is Montessori inspired, offering a program that encourages independent growth through hands-on, developmentally appropriate materials. A Diocesan curriculum serves as a model for content and pacing at each grade level, and the approach to teaching translates concepts learned in the classroom into real world experiences. Clubs and activities enrich a student’s experience, and prayer is integral to the School’s daily life.
As a ministry of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, the School falls directly under the administration of the Pastor of the parish. The Principal at St. Cecilia’s leads by example and both oversees and coordinates all academic aspects of the School, including management and formation of teachers and staff members, development of curriculum, student recruitment and retention activities, management of student interventions, program design, student discipline, and coordination of growth and spiritual guidance of all members of the School.
