Cathedral is a Catholic High School for young men rooted in the LaSallian tradition under the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso, Texas. The school serves close to 500 students and draws students from El Paso County, Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, and New Mexico.
The Principal is the Chief Operational Officer of the school. He/she is appointed by and responsible to the Board of Directors of Cathedral High School. The role of the Principal is to ensure teachers prepare and challenge students as disciples of Jesus through education rooted in Catholic Heritage, Gospel values, and LaSallian tradition.
The Principal ensures an innovative Catholic education environment by providing leadership in curriculum development, financial and personnel management, student/teacher/program evaluations, planning, and facility maintenance while advancing the change process. The Principal leads by example, demonstrating the highest moral, ethical and professional standards.
The four roles of a principal (as Spiritual Leader, as Instructional Leader, as Administrator, and as Communicator) are important ministries of leadership at Cathedral High School.

Competence and experience in developing curriculum and strategies for educating students from diverse populations
Competence in the preparation and management of an annual budget
Eight (8) years of professional education experience to include: Five (5) years of teaching experience and three (3) years of administrative experience
An exceptional instructional leader with a history of guiding faculty in the preparation of college ready students
Has demonstrated the ability to create a collaborative, positive, and inclusive environment conducive to open communication
Has demonstrated the capacity to be open to new ideas implement policies effectively, and establish programs
18 credit hours in educational administration and supervision courses
or a valid, appropriate state certificate for a principal
or the successful completion of an appropriate state certification examination
