Lexington Catholic High School serves as an integral part of the Mission of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lexington, Kentucky. We serve students of all faith traditions by providing a high-quality Catholic college preparatory education that fosters the spiritual ideas and moral values of the Gospel. Today, Lexington Catholic is the only Catholic high school serving Kentucky east of Louisville. Our 841 students represent the greater Lexington area, as well as several adjacent counties in central Kentucky. Lexington Catholic has 60 full-time teachers, seven part-time teachers, four guidance counselors, one guidance assistant, one school chaplain, and a spiritual life team. The average class size is 22 students.

A challenging college prep academic curriculum, competitive athletics program and engaging activities in a Catholic school environment developing the complementary attributes of mind, body and spirit, the President of Lexington Catholic High School is appointed by the Bishop on recommendation of the Board of Trustees (Board) and reports to the Board for matters concerning the administration of the school. The President works with the Board in a collaborative, consultative manner for the ongoing development of the best education, environment and experience that we can offer our students and the best working and professional development atmosphere for our faculty and staff.
Lexington Catholic High School sits on 10.3 acres of land in the heart of Lexington, Kentucky off Clays Mill Road. Surrounded by the historic Southland Park neighborhood, the original campus was built in 1951. Over the past 60 years, LCHS has undergone extensive renovations to expand the campus to its current facility of 155,000 square feet.
The heart of LCHS resides in the Chapel, located just inside the front entrance. The academic campus has 40 classrooms that encompass science, English, Math, world language and religion wings as well as an arts wing, a 400-seat theatre, choral room and a centralized Senior courtyard. In 2014 LCHS dedicated the library space to become the High Marks Center for Learning which hosts private and group tutoring sessions and accommodations for students with learning differences.
The athletics facilities include a football field with field house, a baseball field with practice cages, two newly renovated weight/ training rooms, and two gymnasiums to host a myriad of sports from varsity to intramural.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
THE PRESIDENT’S PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:
Institutional Advancement: The President serves as the school’s chief fundraiser and main community contact. The President directs marketing efforts, recruitment strategies, fundraising programs and alumni activities in collaboration with the Advancement Team and the Board.
Strategic Plan Development: The President in collaboration with the Board, the school administration and the faculty, develops and executes a strategic long-range plan that is consistent with the mission of the school and the policies of the Diocese of Lexington.
Business & Financial Management: The President maintains oversight of budget, financial operations and obligations of the school, including Property, Site Management, Security, Plant & Food service and Athletic finances.
Catholic Identity: The President promotes the essential characteristics and fundamental values of a Catholic schools.
Communication: As the chief spokesperson, communicates the philosophy and programs of LCHS to various parent and community groups and represents the school at civic, religious and other public forums.
Board of Directors: The President seeks the advice and counsel and works collaboratively with the Board to develop and implement governance for practices and policies.
Liaison to the Diocese and Catholic Community: The President works collaboratively with the Bishop, K-8 Diocese schools and all feeder schools and the Headmaster, Pastor, President or equivalent role.
Recruitment: The President is accountable for student, faculty and staff recruitment.
Leadership: The President hires, manages, provides leadership and works closely with the Principal, who is charged with developing the academic and co-curricular programs of the school including: admission, academic affairs, ministry, student discipline, retention and non-academic programs.
Policies and Practices: The President approves all school policies and practices, provided they are consistent with Diocese policies and the stated mission of LCHS as a Catholic Community and an academic center.
Public Representative: The President is the chief external spokesperson for public relations and crisis management, represents the school in the public forum and personally meet with selected constituencies to improve school-community relations.
Resources: The President uses all available resources to provide scholarships and tuition assistance in order to make the school available to those who desire a Catholic education, support academic programs and enhancements, improve and maintain facilities and provide for a safe, rigorous, relevant, quality education and cultural experience for all students.
Practicing Catholic in communion with the church.
Advanced graduate degree in education and/or business administration.
Proven fundraising and revenue generating success.
Proven financial management success with strong financial skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including ability to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders, build creative and mutually beneficial relationships with the philanthropic, corporate, public and nonprofit sectors.
Exceptional leadership skills and positive experiences leading an organization.
Significant visionary leadership and management experience, with demonstrated success in addressing immediate organizational needs but driving toward long-term goals with buy-in from stakeholders.
