The Athletic Director at Divine Child High School articulates and champions the vision of the athletic department; setting strategic goals for Athletics based on Divine Child High School’s overall mission. This individual inspires, supervises, evaluates, and supports all coaches and athletic staff. The Athletic Director manages a significant budget, oversees facilities and staff, coordinates busing for the school complex, and serves on a number of important school-wide committees. Divine Child High School fields over fifty athletic teams throughout the year.
The Athletic Director
oversees the coaching staff; mentoring, building morale, encouraging professional development, evaluating the various programs, and establishing high standards for sportsmanship;
oversees the coordination and game management of the seasonal and weekly schedule of contests;
oversees athletic trainers and helps to establish protocol for the treatment and assessment of injuries;
oversees care and use of fields, courts, indoor athletic facilities, and rentals, communicating with the physical plant, and athletic staff;
ensures that the school communications office, the Catholic High School League (CHSL) communications office, and the local media have timely, accurate information regarding Divine Child High School athletics;
coordinates transportation to athletic and all other school related events;
works well as part of a faculty team that is excited to teach in a faith-based community and actively engages students in their faith formation and development of the whole student; and
reports to the Principal of the school and has one full time and one part time staff member as direct reports.
Requirements and Preferences
A Bachelor’s Degree is required for this position, and a Master’s Degree in Athletic Administration, Educational Leadership, or School Administration is preferred.
