Lexington Catholic’s next Principal | Chief Academic Officer will partner with the President, faculty and administration to continue to lead the school on its path of distinction. This position represents an extraordinary opportunity to lead one of the finest high schools in Kentucky. The new Principal will benefit from the legacy of retiring Principal Sally Stevens whose lengthy tenure has been marked by expanded academic opportunities and a talented and collegial faculty. The new Principal will need to be a strong and visible presence within the tight-knit community while leading the school with empathy, strength and purpose.
The Principal is the educational leader of the school, directly responsible to the President and, by extension, to the Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Lexington and the Board of Trustees. The Principal is responsible for the progress of the school toward achieving its Mission, the daily orderly operation of the school, and the teaching-learning process. This responsibility demands a close working relationship with the President, the faculty, staff, and students, as well as parents and the community at large. The Principal is assisted in this task by those appointed to the Principal’s administrative team.
The Principal, along with the President, is a facilitator of the community of faith and bears the responsibility for the integration of the Catholic faith and culture within Lexington Catholic High School.
The Principal, as the Chief Academic Officer of the school, has the responsibility for achieving the Mission of Lexington Catholic High School by developing and maintaining a school strong in academic achievement, counseling and guidance services, and ample programs to meet the co-curricular and extracurricular needs of the students.
The Principal must have previous educational administrative experience with certification or master’s level degree equivalent. The Principal is on a twelve-month contract and is entitled to vacation time according to school and Diocesan policies.

Today, Lexington Catholic is the only Catholic high school serving Kentucky east of Louisville. Our 841 students represent the greater Lexington area, as well as several adjacent counties in central Kentucky. Lexington Catholic has 60 full-time teachers, 7 part-time teachers, 4 guidance counselors, one guidance assistant, one school chaplain, and a spiritual life team. The average class size is 22 students.
