Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School is a diocesan secondary school serving 350 students and is located in San Luis Obispo, CA. MCP English teachers use a variety of techniques in the classroom, and are comfortable integrating technology into the curriculum. The school expects candidates to have an ability to use differentiated instruction. MCP seeks an experienced classroom teacher who has a background in curricular and pedagogical innovation. Responsibilities for this position also include collaboration and full participation in an English department to ensure excellent scope and sequence, as well as participation in a professional, Catholic school-wide learning community.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or advanced degree in English as well as a teaching credential in English/Language Arts. This candidate will have English teaching experience, will be qualified to teach students in 9th through 12th grade, will be versed in academic areas including American Literature, World Literature, British Literature, and Contemporary Literature, and will be fluent in integrating Catholic themes and selections into the curriculum. The ideal candidate will also have experience with honors and AP courses.
