Our Lady of Good Counsel School, Southampton, Pennsylvania in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, is a parish elementary school accredited by the Middle States Association seeking an experienced leader in Catholic education to be part of the mission of Our Lady of Good Counsel parish.
Located in beautiful Bucks County, OLGC opened in 1953 and currently serves over 300 students from Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade fostering the spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional development of each student. Students are challenged to reach their fullest potential in a Christ-centered atmosphere where they daily live Gospel values.
The successful candidate will be committed to the values of Catholic education and understand the school is an important ministry of the parish. The candidate will collaborate with the school community and the greater parish community to be an integral part of parish Catholic education. This will involve attendance at some parish meetings such as, but not limited to, Parish Council, Parish Finance, School Advisory Board, Home and School Board, Sacramental programs, and Retreats. It also requires collaboration with the parish Coordinator of Religious Education and various other members of the parish staff. A dedicated leader is needed to exhibit compassion, direct discipline, embrace challenges, and relate well with others in writing and speech. The candidate will foster academic excellence,develop class schedules, encourage team building, and strengthen teacher and staff development. A promoter of the school, the candidate will also work enthusiastically to recruit new students.
The preferred applicant will have a spirit of cooperation with the Office of Catholic Education in the administration of the school within Archdiocesan, state and federal policies and regulations, an ability to delegate authority where possible and desirable,a willingness to be straightforward, fair and patient when dealing with individuals, a Christ-like compassion, openness, and the ability to hear and understand the problems of others and to plan for the future.
