Ursuline Academy, located in Dallas, Texas, has announced its search for a Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management to officially begin July 1, 2019, with the potential for transitioning full-time as early as June. Founded in 1874, Ursuline Academy is an independent Catholic college preparatory school for young women with a total enrollment of approximately 850 in grades 9 through 12. It is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest, with membership in a number of other professional organizations including the National Association of Independent Schools, National Coalition of Girls’ Schools, National Catholic Education Association, Online School for Girls, Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools, Council for Advancement and Support of Education, Secondary Schools Admission Test Board, and Ursuline Educational Network.
Reporting to the Principal, the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management leads the School’s admissions program including all aspects of outreach, recruitment, and enrollment. Working with the Principal and in collaboration with the President and Board of Trustees, the Director develops and implements a strategy for admissions including long-term enrollment objectives and an annual action plan to meet admission and retention goals. The Director also moderates the signature student leadership Ambassador Program, which includes providing leadership training for ambassadors, managing regular meetings of officers and large group, fulfilling requests for ambassador participation in activities, and overseeing the application and selection process for new ambassadors. The Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management serves as a member of the School Administrative Team, a collaborative team of seven administrators closely involved with all operations of the School.
Successful independent school admissions experience, superior skills in communication and technology, strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, and a warm, consultative demeanor to build rapport and establish credibility are key for the new Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management. It is also essential that s/he be knowledgeable and passionate about girls education and the needs of young women in high school.
