The Principal works in partnership with the board of directors to achieve the mission of Everest Academy, in alignment with the RC School Principles. The Principal is responsible for the recruitment, hiring, retention, professional development, supervision, and evaluation of the school faculty and staff. He or she works to build a strong school leadership team, one that is capable of and committed to the integral formation of students and to achieving academic excellence. The Principal ensures that the school maintains the requirements of all educational and accreditation organizations for which they have membership. The Principal directs the faculty in their work to design and deliver a quality program of integral formation. The Principal is a witness of faith in Jesus Christ, carrying out his/her specific responsibilities as an apostle, with professional dedication to the mission of Everest Academy.
Degree/certification: Master’s degree in education, type 75 certification, ideally with proven experience in both teaching and administration.

The principal reports to the board of directors.
The principal interfaces with RC Education, the organization serving our network of RC schools.
The principal leads the school leadership team, as well as manages all faculty and staff either directly or indirectly.
PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT
Oversees the implementation of the RC School Principles
Works collaboratively with the Board of Directors to:
Establish a long-term strategic plan for the school
Develop the annual school budget
Set annual tuition
Develop a facilities and maintenance plan
Develops an annual school plan for approval of the board of directors
Develops the school calendar and class schedules according to accrediting body policies
Customizes and recommends required changes/improvements to the approved Parent/Student Handbook and Faculty Handbook
Meets weekly with direct reports:
Manages the dean of students to ensure teachers are implementing effective classroom management
Manages the chaplain to ensure that pastoral plan and formation goals are set and accomplished annually
Manage the development director for establishing and achieving the fundraising goals approved by the board of directors
Manages the admissions director to establish and achieve the goals for retention and recruitment as approved by the Board of Directors, as well as conduct admission interviews and make final admissions decision for potential students
Meets as requested with the Board of Directors to give Principal’s report
Oversees daily operation of school, including payment of bills and facilities management
Determines annual staffing needs based on projected enrollment and budget
Attends professional development courses and meetings for principals as part of his/her personal professional development plan
FACULTY AND STAFF
Hires and supervises qualified faculty and all support staff
Integrates faculty and staff into the mission of the school and works toward building a strong culture of charity and teamwork
Plans an effective program of professional development and formation for faculty
Conducts informal and formal teacher observations according to the guidelines in the Teacher Assessment and Evaluation Policy
Works to maintain high staff morale and achieve faculty retention goals
Monitors student performance and achievement, ensuring that education and formation goals are set annually and being met
Endeavors to know each student by greeting students at the beginning or end of the school day and making visits to the classroom
Ensures that students are provided with personalized attention and leadership opportunities that will allow them to exercise their strengths and talents
Works collaboratively with the Dean of Students to oversee student discipline in the school, ensuring consistent and motivational methods are employed
Approves recommendations from teachers to retain or not-readmit students also approving teacher recommendations to suspend or expel students
Working to increase overall student satisfaction with the school and achieve student retention goals
Provide families with personalized attention and encourage them to support the mission of the school
Oversee timely, quality, and effective family/school communication systems
Organize regular parent/teacher conferences
Motivate teachers to maintain regular, professional, and positive communications with parents
Work with faculty and staff to offer family formation opportunities
Work with the parent association to maintain a vibrant school community
Work to increase overall parent satisfaction with the school and achieve family retention goals and assessing this annually, presenting a benchmarked report to the board of directors
PROGRAM OF EDUCATION
Establish and maintain an environment in which students achieve standards of academic excellence, reaching the heights of their intellectual potential and overall integral formation
Implement any required changes/improvements to the curriculum, teaching methods or materials in order to achieve academic excellence and integral formation goals
Implement appropriate standardized tests and student assessment tools
Oversee a team to assist teachers with intervention techniques, documentation analysis, and referral process
Oversee proper maintenance of student records
Manage efforts to secure and retain necessary school accreditations
