The Dean of Students has primary responsibility for the good order of the school. This task is accomplished by promoting school values and working in concert with administrators, faculty and staff. The Dean reports to the Principal.
The responsibilities include:
Provides support to the Principal in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies promoting Lasallian values in the school.
Establishes procedures for the supervision and maintenance of good order in the School.
Establishes a schedule for the proctoring of the School building, grounds, dining hall, and parking lot during lunchtime and as needed.
Organizes and assigns faculty prefects for student events as needed.
Proctors designated student events.
Is responsible for maintaining release forms, i.e. emergency and consent forms.
Is responsible for assigning student lockers.
Acts as liaison with Interquest.
Chairs the student discipline review meetings.
Reviews the attendance and tardy reports produced by the Attendance Secretary.
Supervises the detention programs.
Conducts emergency procedures.
Serves as a member of the Principal’s Council.
Assists the Principal in other areas as delegated.
Applicants must have excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. A minimum of five years in secondary education and a Masters degree are preferred. La Salle High School will offer a competitive salary and benefits. Position begins July 1.
