Notre Dame High School, a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory high school of 1100 students, located in Lawrenceville, NJ, has opened a search for its next President who will assume the position on July 1, 2019.
The President is the leader of the Notre Dame High School community, and oversees the vision, philosophy and goals of the school to ensure a superior educational program within a Catholic faith-based community. The President maintains the Catholic identity of the high school community, while developing its resources and expanding its local presence through marketing, fundraising and public relations. The President works closely with the Notre Dame High School Board of Governors and the Principal to create alignment between strategic vision, academic needs and current/future finances.
The new President will come into a high-functioning school that is well positioned amidst the excellent private and public schools in the Delaware Valley Region. Notre Dame High School operates with a comprehensive Strategic Plan including a thorough Master Site Plan that received formal approvals in 2015 from the Diocese, the County and the Township. The development of the plans included input from faculty and staff users as well as from members of the NDHS family of parents and graduates. It has been carefully designed through the work of architects and engineers, and has become the cornerstone objective for Advancement fundraising efforts.
The school seeks an experienced educator who is a practicing Catholic, and possesses inspirational leadership that will promote the mission and values of the school and help to ensure its future.
The successful candidate must possess and present a confident and professional appearance and presence at all times and be able to lead and create coalitions from a variety of stakeholders especially including the Board of Governors, in building a partnership in governance to benefit the school’s mission.
He/she will be data driven and goal oriented, having a clear understanding of the Advancement process including fundraising, marketing and communications principles and an enthusiastic willingness to engage in all fundraising and marketing activity as the school’s leader. That candidate should possess excellent communication skills including writing, public speaking and interpersonal relationship skills, have the ability to recognize and hire quality people to serve the needs of the school community, and be available to participate/lead events at night and on weekends.
The position requires a Master’s Degree in Business or Educational Leadership, and at least five years of organizational leadership experience. Five years of work in Catholic education preferred.
Notre Dame High School has engaged the national executive search firm, Educational Directions, Incorporated, to assist with the search. The Search Committee plans to complete the search by the beginning of November 2018.
