St. Joseph’s Academy is a college preparatory high school sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet located in St. Louis, Missouri. Our mission at the Academy is to provide quality Catholic education for young women in an environment that challenges them to grow in faith, knowledge and respect for self and others. Our community expects these young women to make a profound impact in the world.
St. Joseph’s Academy is committed to supporting students and ensuring they have full and equal access to our rigorous curricula, and seeks a Learning Consultant for the 2018-2019 school year. The Learning Consultant is responsible for, but is not limited to:
Assessing incoming and current students’ learning needs by reviewing student records for indications of diagnosed or potential learning needs.
Assisting the principal in determining St. Joseph’s Academy’s ability to meet the student’s particular learning need.
Working individually with any current student as needed.
Instructing any student in research-based study skills, as well as executive skill development, time management, organization, and self-advocacy.
Making learning and testing intervention recommendations.
Gathering, interpreting, and analyzing student data report (educational testing, language and reading evaluations, psychological evaluations, visual tracking and convergence testing, audiological evaluations, etc.)
Submitting required paperwork for students requesting standardized testing accommodations, as well as for students receiving support from outside agencies.
Consulting and communicating effectively with parents and teachers.
Providing resources to teachers and leading professional development on best practices for all learners.
