Messmer Catholic Schools Inc. (MCS) seeks a committed and experienced leader as Director of Elementary Education (DEE):
The DEE is responsible for the oversight of effective operations, curriculum, assessment and instruction at Messmer Saint Mary and Messmer Saint Rose elementary schools (combined enrollment of over 800) through the hiring, staff development and supervision of our building administration teams and professional faculty and staff.
The DEE directly supervises the building leadership teams of Messmer Saint Mary and Messmer Saint Rose elementary schools, along with specialists and coordinators, such as literacy specialists, guidance counselors, math specialists, ELL staff and or other interventionists.
The DEE models dedication to vocation in urban educational leadership, in the Catholic education tradition, integrating a faith-based foundation and nurturing the prayer life of the diverse Messmer Saint Mary and Messmer Saint Rose school communities.
The DEE leads MHS with the Mission, Vision, and Values articulated in the 2017-2021 Strategic Plan approved by the MCS Board of Directors.
The DEE is a vital member of the MCS leadership team, actively collaborating with academic leadership at Messmer High School and our Advancement, Finance, Human Resources, and Operations Departments. The DEE reports to the school In collaboration with the leadership team, the DEE represents the interests of MCS with collaborative partners, associations, and reporting agencies as designated by the President.

Qualifications and Experience
Master's degree and Principal/Director of Instruction licensure
At least four years of experience supervising and evaluating faculty and staff through building administration and/or director of instruction responsibilities
Demonstrated commitment to Catholic, faith-based education
Strong background in effective literacy programming, elementary mathematics programming, and standards based assessment practices; leading literacy and math growth are long term priorities
Experience in the development, reinforcement, and recognition of the faculty, staff, and administrative team with personalized support and clear accountability
Commitment and capacity to serve and connect on a personal level with low-income, urban, minority students and families
Exemplary interpersonal skills with faculty, staff, parents, students and community members
Evidence of an ability to analyze and utilize and communicate data to increase student achievement
Demonstrated ability to manage school and program budgets, safety plans, and supportive operations in collaboration with the MCS administrative team.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
