The Diocese of Allentown is seeking a full-time Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum. This position provides leadership in areas of curriculum, professional development and supervision in matters and programs pertaining to the elementary and secondary schools of the Diocese. The Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum acts as a liaison for the Chancellor and Superintendent of Catholic Education with principals, teachers, pastors and religious communities. The Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum shall give witness to the Roman Catholic Church’s teaching, moral truths and values, both in his/her personal and professional life.
Primary responsibilities include:
Oversight of Administrators Development Program which requires periodic meetings with Principals and monitoring through school and classroom visits.
Organizing the Middle States accreditation program.
Administering the Diocesan testing program.
Assisting with the development of Catholic curriculum, including curriculum workshops.
Qualified candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Education with PA Teaching Certificate and a combination of at least 10 years teaching and administrative education experience. Candidates will be practicing Catholics and must be committed to the mission of Catholic education. Certified Catechist, PA Administrative Certification and experience in Catholic education and/or with Diocesan structure preferred.
