High School Religious Studies Teacher

Salesianum School, a private Catholic high school for boys, is searching for an individual to teach courses in the Religious Studies Department beginning August, 2018.  The position offers competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a Master’s degree in Catholic theology or an equivalent degree. Preferred candidates will have several years teaching experience, especially at the high school level. Candidates should be excited by the “Joy of the Gospel,” as Pope Francis has consistently reminded the Church. They should be willing to live and love what they teach.

About our Department

Our Religious Studies Department has a highly qualified set of teachers; all have a Master’s degree in Theology or equivalent degree. Our department members value collaboration and community, and welcome the input and ideas of their colleagues. We recognize the countercultural nature of the Gospel message, and embrace the challenge of evangelizing the young. Doubts and questions are understood to be a normal part of faith development, but we take seriously the task of teaching the Catholic faith in an intellectually rigorous—but intelligible—manner. We see our classroom mission as complementary to the retreat and service programs of our school’s Center for Faith and Justice; indeed, many in our department contribute to those programs.
