Bishop O’Connell High School, located in Arlington, Virginia, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Associate Director of Annual Giving and Major Gifts. Bishop O’Connell is a diocesan Catholic high school founded in 1957 for students in grades 9-12. Current enrollment is 1115 students drawn from over 80 schools in the Washington, DC metro area.
The Associate Director of Annual Giving and Major Gifts is responsible for directing and managing the school’s annual fund and a portfolio of major gift prospects for annual, capital and sponsorship requests. It is a full-time, exempt 12-month position reporting directly to the Director of Advancement.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of experience in fundraising, preferably in independent or Catholic schools
Experience with Annual Giving and Major Gifts programs
Ability to identify, cultivate, and solicit leadership/major gift prospects
Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal
Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and a variety of demands
Ability to analyze fundraising data and use it to drive fundraising strategies
Proficiency in fundraising software, specifically, Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge, NXT, Target Analytics, and Microsoft Office Suite
