The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, located in Wheeling, WV, is currently accepting applications for the position of Superintendent of Catholic Schools. The successful candidate will provide vision and leadership to a system of19 elementary schools and 6 high schools The school system has a current student population of 5,506 and 546 professional staff.
The Superintendent of Catholic Schools will be a dynamic, visionary leader who is uniquely qualified to support and carry out the vision of the Diocesan Bishop to provide academic excellence based on gospel values. The Superintendent will be a highly energized person able to articulate the mission of Catholic Schools, provide leadership and support to students and faculty, grow enrollment in the schools and ensure that schools are managed in a fiscally sound manner.
Qualified candidates will be a practicing active Catholic with a strong commitment to Catholic education. The individual must have a Masters Degree in education administration or related field with 5 years of experience as a principal or administrator. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. The individual will be able to demonstrate leadership ability through work experience. The position requires the successful candidate to possess sound knowledge of budgetary issues, fiscal responsibility and financial management.
