Bishop Guertin High School, a co-educational, college preparatory high school located in Nashua, New Hampshire, seeks a dynamic and experienced Director of Advancement who is passionate about advancing the mission of Catholic education with a focus on whole-person formation.
The Director is responsible for all donor relations and alumni engagement efforts, including design and implementation of comprehensive institutional advancement plans for our annual fund, major gifts and planned giving, and capital campaigns. S/he is also responsible for programs and projects that strategically engage alumni in strengthening programs that provide tangible benefits to alumni and current students. The Director guides the work of the department through the promotion of the school’s mission as a Brothers of the Sacred Heart school to both external and internal stakeholders. The Director of Advancement reports directly to the President. S/he is responsible for the personnel of the department and works in collaboration with other offices as required by the projects at hand. S/he also chairs an ad-hoc committee of the Board of Directors.
Bachelor’s Degree (Master's degree preferred) in Communications, Education, Business, Fundraising, Alumni Affairs, or a closely related field or a demonstrated depth/breadth of experience in key elements of the job description.
Three to five years experience in institutional advancement and development with an established track record of success, preferably in an educational institution.
Strong background in developing and implementing multi-year advancement plans, including donor data management, budgeting, and staffing.
Enthusiasm and skills to inspire and encourage external participation in appropriate development and alumni affairs programming.
The ability to foster effective working relationships with personnel, students, alumni, and community leaders, as well as the ability to leverage these relationships for the benefit of Bishop Guertin High School.
Clear collaborative approach with internal and external stakeholders.
Self-motivated with a demonstrated record of successful execution and follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Understanding of social media.
Confidentiality and discretion in working with sensitive information.
Flexibility in work schedule and availability to work weekends and evenings, or to travel when necessary.
